Purpose and Mission
Welcome to Dr Taylor is In. I provide virtual therapy and limited concierge in-home sessions for adults in Washington, DC who are navigating anxiety, chronic illness, disability adjustment, and major life transitions.
My mission is to help clients make sense of emotional and functional changes with compassion, clarity, and clinically grounded support. I create a safe, inclusive space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and identity without judgement.
Whether you're adjusting to a diagnosis, managing chronic stress, or rebuilding stability after a major change, we work together toward insight, healing, and renewed confidence.

Professional Background
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (DC), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and Certified Work Incentive Practitioner (CWIP) with a PhD in Counseling.
My training integrates mental health therapy with disability expertise, giving me a unique ability to support clients whose emotional symptoms overlap with medical, neurologic, or functional challenges.

Before opening my private practice, I spent years working in:
• disability and rehabilitation counseling
• medical and functional adjustment
• chronic illness support
• vocational identity and return-to-life planning
• benefits and work incentive advising
• community reintegration and adult services
This background allows me to understand both the emotional and functional sides of your experience. It also enables me to offer concierge in-home therapy for clients who benefit from care in their own environment due to mobility, sensory, or health-related needs.

What It Means to Work With a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)
As a CRC, I have specialized expertise in:

-
disability adjustment
-
functional and cognitive changes
-
chronic illness and long-term medical conditions
-
vision loss adaptation
-
fatigue, pacing, and lifestyle transitions
-
identity and role shifts
-
the emotional impact of major health changes

I understand how physical, emotional, and practical challenges intersect — and I tailor therapy to honor all three.

Clients often tell me:
You understand my life in a way other therapists haven’t.
